Every officially licensed product, from a t-shirt to a coffee mug, goes through an approval process that protects you, the university, and the community behind the brand.

Your purchase supports the university. Royalties from licensed merchandise fund Oregon Athletic programs, efforts to protect and amplify the Oregon brand, and university initiatives. When you buy official, a portion of every sale comes back to the University of Oregon.
You're getting what you paid for. Licensed products meet quality standards reviewed and approved by the university. Unlicensed items often cut corners on materials, printing, and accuracy.
The brand stays authentic. Our marks—the logos, colors, and wordmarks you recognize and love—represent the university's identity and reputation. Licensing ensures they're used correctly and consistently.
How to spot authentic product
All officially licensed UO branded products have the Genuine College Product (“GCP”) hangtag or hologram. It's your assurance that the product has been reviewed and approved. Signs a product may be unlicensed:
- No GCP hangtag or hologram
- Poor print or embroidery quality
- Colors that don't match the official University of Oregon colors
- Logos that look distorted or off
- No trademark symbol (® or ™)
