Share your ideas.
Workplace is an important source for employment news, event information, unique opportunities, and announcements from leaders. It also offers insights into employee experience by spotlighting faculty and staff, celebrating achievements, and showcasing incredible contributions towards the UO mission.
We want to hear from you. Submit a story idea or a UO topic you want to learn more about.
Content appropriate for Workplace should appeal to and be accessible by all or almost all employee groups and have a direct connection to a UO-supported division, program, or affiliate. Generally speaking, content is sourced and published from units and programs funded by the UO and staffed by employees paid by the UO.
Reader Feedback Project
Objectives
University Communications is seeking feedback from Workplace readers to:
- Understand reader engagement with Workplace newsletter;
- Establish a baseline for reader perceptions;
- Identify content and topics of greatest interest;
- Identify opportunities for improvement of content; and
- Analyze findings by employee type for meaningful differences.
A randomized group of employees will be asked to share their feedback on what’s working, what’s not, and what they would like to see more of in the weekly Workplace newsletter. Responses will directly influence the content produced for Workplace in order to better serve employees across the organization.
Employee Participation – Randomized Sample
The project will use a randomized employee sample:
- Determined by statistical reliability standards.
- Based on an active employee report from University Human Resources provided on January 20, 2026.
- Includes tenure-related faculty, career and pro tem faculty, officers of administration, SEIU employees, Teamsters, UO Police Association employees, and graduate employees.
Timeline – January 30-February 16
The feedback form will open January 30 and close no later than February 13. Selected participants will receive an initial invitation to participate and one reminder. They will be invited to enter a prize drawing. Winners will be notified by Friday, February 16.
