The Marketing Communications team is a gifted collection of creative professionals striving to serve the University of Oregon’s priorities of access, excellence, diversity, and experience. We partner with the campus community to create, drive, and design marketing communications efforts that support the University of Oregon’s priorities. We collaborate across campus to serve the university’s efforts in web, video, and print.
Photo and Video Services
With four full-time photographers/videographers, Marketing Communications can meet many of the photographic and video needs on campus. The team provides creative direction for photo and video production to support UO colleges, departments, and initiatives.
Our style tells our story and spotlights the people and places that make the University of Oregon great. It exemplifies what it means to be a Duck: irreverent, progressive, extraordinary, alive, natural, and inclusive.
The Marketing Communications’ graphic design team primarily serves schools, colleges and administrative units with dedicated communications staff. Typically, projects are strategically aligned with the priorities of the university and might be focused on recruitment; student support; development; intended to advance the university’s reputation in research, scholarship, and creative inquiry; or mandated by legal requirements.
Our team designs engaging, efficient, effective, and brand-aligned communications. We will ensure that your publication reflects the diversity of people, programs, and experiences the university offers.
Marketing Communications guides the University of Oregon's overall digital strategy. The team boasts user experience experts, information architects, designers, and developers. Together, and working with campus colleagues, the team leads the university's web efforts and sets policies and guidelines for design, content, navigation, and accessibility.
If the web is the university's digital front door, then a user-centered approach defines how we treat our guests. The Marketing Communications team follows a user-centered design process that seeks to engage end-users in all stages of design and development. The UO-branded elements are designed to provide maximum utility for various audiences visiting university websites while maintaining a consistent experience across sites.
This section is designed for university communicators who participate in their department's web presence. It guides you through learning to write for the web and trains you on our Drupal platform.
This section was designed for departments or groups on campus who use Cosmic, the responsive, UO-branded website theme, on a University of Oregon website. Cosmic, which currently supports Drupal 7 and a Wordpress version on UO Blogs, is designed to be extendable and modifiable, and is intended to aid developers who need a UO-branded website but lack the design resources or time to develop a custom theme for their project.
