We love our Ducks—and we love celebrating them across every sport!

We’re excited to announce the addition of the Athletics Experience Visual Guide to the UO Expanded Brand Library, under "Campaign Assets." This new resource is designed to help campus communicators seamlessly incorporate the athletics experience into their projects with consistency and style.

Guidelines have been published for how multiple campus units should represent themselves on collateral when co-sponsoring a program or event. Units should not apply multiple departmental marks on those items. Instead, they should use the UO’s primary mark to collectively represent themselves or list their units in conjunction with the primary mark. Complete guidelines can be found in the Oregon Brand Guide.

Refreshed lists of internal licensees have been uploaded to the brand site. The most current lists include a revision date of May 16, 2025, found in the footer of the PDFs. Licensees lists are updated almost quarterly.

Brand trainings for faculty and staff will not be offered during the summer starting June 1, 2025. Fall term trainings are slated for Tuesday afternoons on September 9, October 7, November 4, and December 2. Registration will open approximately one month prior to each session date. Announcements when registration is live will be mentioned through the Workplace newsletter.

A note was added to the Logo Colors section of the Oregon Brand Guide addressing the marks rendered entirely in medium gray (PMS 429). In summary: Marks rendered entirely in medium gray (PMS 429) are considered outdated. While some logo packages in the Brand Library may still include these versions, they should not be used.

A new section addressing burned-in captions for social media has been added in the Closed Caption and Accessibility section of the Oregon Brand Guide. Guidelines address colors, fonts, sizing, padding, and more to ensure captions are legible, accessible, and follow UO brand styles for social media. Caption style templates can be found in the Brand Library.

Best practices for creating social media thumbnails for video content have been added to the Oregon Brand Guide. The guidelines specifically address creating thumbnails for YouTube videos and Instagram Reels. Follow these specifications to help strengthen engagement with your content.

The “Marketing and Publicity” retention series has been updated to include social media content. As a communication and marketing channel for the university, social media content is subject to the university’s Records Retention Schedule. Specific information about the retention series can be found on the Records Retention Schedule website.
